Reactive glazes interact with heat during high-temperature firing, creating natural variations in tone, depth, and visual texture. Each piece carries its own nuances — not a defect, a differentiator. What looks like a scratch isn't.
Cutlery marks are not scratches on the glaze. They are metallic markings — steel particles from cutlery, a softer material than the ceramic glaze, depositing on the surface during friction. The glaze itself is not damaged.
Marks increase with low-quality or very hard cutlery, very matte glazes, and excessive pressure. They are easily removed with baking soda and water, cream or powder cleanser, or specific hospitality cleaning products.
